KM-1 (Kudumianmalai 1) — KM-1 is a bushy drumstick variety propagated by seeds. Plants begin bearing fruits about six months after planting and can continue producing for 2 to 3 years. This variety yields approximately 400-500 fruits annually and was developed at Anna Pannai, Kudumianmalai, Pudukkottai.
PKM-1 — Developed at the Horticultural Research Station, TNAU, Periyakulam, PKM-1 plants grow 4-6 meters tall. They flower within 90-100 days, and the first harvest occurs around 160-170 days after planting. This variety is propagated by seeds.
PKM-2 — Also developed at TNAU, Periyakulam, PKM-2 produces extra-long pods measuring 125-130 cm, known for their pulpiness. This variety is especially suitable for home gardens.
Dhanraj — Dhanraj is an annual drumstick variety propagated by seeds, developed at KRC College of Agriculture, UAS, Arabhavi, Karnataka. It is widely exported due to its quality and adaptability.
Jaffna Moringa — This perennial drumstick variety produces pods about 60-90 cm long with soft flesh and a pleasant taste. It is popular in export markets.
Chavakacheri Muringa — Chavakacheri Muringa is another perennial variety with pods measuring 90-120 cm in length. It is exported to many countries for its desirable qualities.
