The cabbage exporter in India exports a wide range of cabbage varieties cultivated across the country. Below are some of the key cabbage varieties included in the export shipments from India to global markets:
Golden Acre — Golden Acre cabbages are among the first to be harvested in spring. This variety matures in about 60–65 days, producing heads weighing between 3 to 5 pounds at peak harvest.
Early Drum Head — An early-maturing variety with flat, medium-large heads weighing around 2–3 kg. The average yield for Early Drum Head is approximately 20–30 tonnes per hectare.
Copenhagen Market — An heirloom variety producing large, round heads with blue-green, nutrient-rich leaves. This cabbage can be eaten raw or cooked and is best harvested before the onset of summer heat.
Jersey Wakefield — Known for its distinct sweet flavor, Jersey Wakefield is ideal for salads. It produces dense, elongated heads weighing about 2–3 pounds, with a small core and protective wrapper leaves.
Pusa Synthetic — A high-yielding midseason variety with round heads weighing 2–4 kg. It matures in 80–90 days post-transplant and can yield 35–46 tonnes per hectare.
Quisto — A vigorous variety with blue-green waxy foliage, Quisto is noted for excellent field appearance and quality. It matures within 75–85 days and has good field holding capacity.
Pusa Ageti — A tropical variety recommended for planting between March and October in northern India. It produces heads weighing 600–1200 grams and is ready for harvest in 75–90 days after transplanting.
Pusa Mukta — A hybrid variety developed from EC-10109 and EC-24855, Pusa Mukta produces compact, slightly flat heads with light green leaves. It has an average yield of 30–35 tonnes per hectare.
