Pineapple Varieties We Export

The Pineapple exporter in India ships several popular varieties of pineapple abroad. The export includes well-known types such as Giant Kew, Queen, Mauritius, and others. As one of the leading pineapple exporters from India, Pisum ensures that all varieties of pineapples are delivered safely and on time to their destinations.

Giant Kew —  The Giant Kew variety produces large-sized fruits with colors ranging from deep yellow to coppery yellow. The eyes of the fruit are broad and flat, while the flesh varies from pale yellow to bright yellow.

Queen —  The Queen pineapple is spiny with a golden yellow hue, known for its pleasant aroma and sweet flavor. This variety’s unique sweetness and aroma distinguish it from pineapples grown in other regions. The Queen pineapple was awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag in 2015.

Mauritius —  Also known as the Vazhakulam Kannara variety, the Mauritius pineapple weighs between 1.3 to 1.6 kg. It is generally conical in shape with golden skin, a delightful aroma, and delicious taste. The juice of this variety is sweeter and has low acidity, ranging from 0.5% to 0.7%.

Charlotte Rothschild —  This variety shares characteristics and taste similar to the Kew and Queen pineapples. It is cultivated partly in Kerala and Goa and is also exported from India.

Jaldhup and Lakhat —  These are two indigenous pineapple varieties grown in Assam, named after their respective production regions. Both belong to the Queen group but bear smaller fruits. Lakhat is typically sour, while Jaldhup has a sweet taste balanced with acidity.
